April 2013 Garden Preparation

On April 4th, Collingwood Collegiate Institute’s Grade 11 Environmental Science classes teamed up with six BVCS classes to participate in educational workshops, planning, and groundwork laying:

Before (April 2nd):

April 2 W April 2 E

After (April 4th):

April 4 W April 4 E

The students are now starting a variety of seeds to establish in the garden next month.

Our participant survey is open for public input until April 26th (see main page for link). At this moment, we are looking for support from other community partners to help with various aspects of starting the garden. Let us know how you want to help.

Along with the school planting day May 14th, we are also planning a community planting day around that day. A lot still needs to be done as we have funding for signage, rain barrels, etc. and will be looking to set these up soon.
